    From the relation of

    sin (x) ^2 + cos (x) ^2 = 1

    (0.42) ^2 + cos (x) ^2 = 1

    cos (x) ^2 = 1 - (0.42) ^2

    cos (x) = √ (1 - (0.42) ^2)

    cos (x) = 0.9075
