How do you turn a mixed number into an improper fraction?

    Multiply the denominator by the whole number, then add the numerator. That's your top number ... numerator stays the same. Easiest way I learned it.

    2 4/5 = 5*2=10+4=14 Answer = 14/5 (Example)
