How do you do this problem? 3 7/8 - 3/8 =

    3 7/8 - 3/8 = 3 4/8. The bottom numbers stay the same, and you subtract the top 3 from the top 7 and you get a 4. Simplified, the answer would be 3 1/2 (because 4/8 in lowest terms in 1/2).
