On a map with a scale 1:100000 the distance between two cities is 12 cm. What would be the distance these two cities on a different map with a scale 1: 300000

    36cm because it says 100000 right the. It says 300000 right if you think about it it only went up 200000, how you say?

    100000 + 200000 = 300000 right so you see 300000 then you multiply 12x3=36 and how I got three I got it from 300000 at the hundred thousands place.
