First you have to make these two fractions have the same denominator, in order for us to be able to compare them without fear of mistake
one number both 5 and 8 have in common is 40
so our process would go something like this:
5 * 8 = 40
7 * 8 = 56
7/5 becomes 56/40
8 * 5 = 40
2 * 5 = 10
2/8 becomes 10/40
now you can either compare them as fractions, or as decimals
since 10 is less than 56 we know that 10/40 is less than 56/40
in decimal form
10/40 would be 0.25
56/40 would be 1.4
0.25 is closer to 0
1.4 is closer to 1
0.25 is less than 1.4
answer: 7/5 is greater than 2/8
