    S is stocks and b is bonds

    s + b = 28800

    3b = 5s or s = 3/5 b

    substitute in for s

    3/5 b + b = 28800

    3b + 5b = 144000

    8b = 144000

    b = 18000 amt in bonds

    s + 18000 = 28800

    s = 10800 amt in stocks
