    The answer is B

    Since the product is negative we exclude A because positive*positive doesn't yield negative.

    B. - 2 + 14 = 12 AND - 2*12 = - 28 (Which is the correct answer)

    C. - 14 + 2 = - 12 AND - 14*2 = - 28 (But it is the wrong answer because it yielded negative 12)
