    Bring the xs to one side and the numbers to the other by subtracting x and adding 6 to both sides. Then you have 3x = 36, so x=12

    solve your equation step-by-step.

    x+30=4x-6

    Subtract 4x from both sides.

    x+30-4x=4x-6-4x

    -3x+30=-6

    Subtract 30 from both sides.

    -3x+30-30=-6-30

    -3x=-36

    Divide both sides by - 3.

    -3x/-3 = - 36/-3

    x=12
