When something is dependent on something else, it relies on it to do its job. Like if you reach in your bag and grab a pencil. You have a red, a blue, and a green. if you grab a blue the first time, you cannot grab it the second time because it is no longer in the bag. Therefor, the next pencil you grab out of your bag is somewhat dependent on the first one you grabbed.
