    The answer is D. 9 yd. 7 in.

    Let's sum all up:

    1yd 2ft 6in + 2yd 1ft 5in + 4yd 2ft 8in

    Sum inches:

    6 + 5 + 8 = 19 in

    12 in = 1 ft

    19 in = 1ft 7in

    Sum feet:

    2 + 1 + 2 + 1 (from inches) = 6 ft

    3ft = 1yd

    6ft = 2y

    Sum yards:

    1 + 2 + 4 + 2 (from feet) = 9 yd
