The amount of time it takes for a student to complete a statistics quiz seems to have a uniform distribution with a minimum time of 18 minutes and the maximum of 50 minutes. The professor wants to reward (with bonus marks) students who are in the lowest quarter of completion times. What completion time should be used for the cutoff for awarding bonus marks?

    Q1 = 18 + 1/4 (50 - 18) = 18 + 1/4 (32) = 18 + 8 = 26

    Therefore, the cutoff should be 26.
