A general contractor is constructing a building that requires a concrete foundation that is to be 21 feet by 8 feet by 4 inches thick. If the local home supply store sells concrete for $96 per cubic yard, how many dollars will it cost for the concrete for the foundation.

    The foundation is 21x8x1/3.

    Concrete is $32/cubic foot.

    21x8x1/3=56 cubic feet of concrete. At $32 per cubic foot, 56x32=$1792.
