Fred works for $8.75 per hour. His regular hours are 40 hours per week and he gets time and a half for overtime. One week he works 47.5 hours. He wants to calculate his pay.

    For the first 40 hours, he gets 8.75/hour, so 40*8.75 = 350. For the last 7.5 hours, he gets (8.75*1.5) / hour. 8.75*1.5 = 13.125/hour, or 13.13/hour. Then do 13.13/hour * 7.5 hours = 98.48. Now add together 350 and 98.48. That equals $448.48 total for the week
