The container that holds the water for the football team is 1/2 full. You add 9 gallons to the container, now its 5/6 full. How many gallons does it hold?

    We know that 9 gallons = 2/6 because 5/6 - 3/6 = 2/6. Then multiply 9 x 3 because 2 goes into 6 3 times to get a final answer of 27 gallons
