    7.50a + 4.50c = 1938

    c = 4a

    7.50a + 4.50 (4a) = 1938

    7.50a + 18a = 1938

    25.5a = 1938

    a = 1938/25.5

    a = 76

    c = 4a

    c = 4 (76)

    c = 304

    so there were 76 adult tickets (a) sold and 304 children tickets (c) sold
