What is the solution for x in the equation? - 8x+11=35

    You need to make 11 a negative number and subtract it from 35 then you should get the answer 24! Next you divide - 8 divided by 24 which is - 3! BTW you don't need to use the original 11 because it gets cancelled out!

    -8x+11=35

    11-11=0

    11-35=24

    -8x=24

    divided 8 by both - 8 and 24

    and that = X=3
