Add the 2 fields together to get the total acres:

    22 1/2 + 38 1/4 = 60 3/4 acres.

Multiply The number of acres by 4/5 to get total quarts:

First change 60 3/4 into an improper fraction:

    60 3/4 = 243/4

    Now you have 243/4 x 4/5

    Multiply straight across to get: (243 * 4) / (4 * 5) = 972/20

Now convert 972/20 to a proper fraction:

48 12/20 = 48 3/5 quarts total, so he will need to buy 49 quarts
