A rectangle on a coordinate plane is translated 5 units up and 3 units to the left. Which rule describes the translation?

(x, y) - (x + 5, y - 3)

(x, y) - (x + 5, y + 3)

(x, y) - (x - 3. y + 5)

(X, Y) - (x + 3, y + 5)

Any time you move up or down, it affects the y coordinate and going up is positive so 5 units up is y + 5.

Moving left or right affects the x coordinate and moving left is negative so x - 3

    (x - 3, y + 5)

So the answer is Option C)
