Two car started out

85 miles apart on straight

highway traveling towards each

other at a constant speed. One

hour later, the two cars passed

each other. If they stayed

at their speeds and directions,

how far apart were they an

hour after they met?

    ok so 85 miles / 2 cars = 42.5

    the cars were traveling 42.5 miles an hour you have to double it because they are coming at each other

    it is like them starting out 85 miles apart and then they meet in the middle of the 85 miles ...

    they would be 85 miles apart after they met in one hour
