    Step-by-step explanation:

    So we just want to get y by itself

    2x - 4y = 8

    4y = 2x - 8

    y = (2/4) x - 2

    y = (1/2) x - 2

    In this form the y intercept and slope are easy to see. the slope is m and y intercept is b.

    slope = 1/2

    y intercept = - 2
