    Supplementary angles = 180°

    Givens

    Let the supplement = x

    Let the original angle = 8x

    Formula

    x + 8x = 180°

    Solve

    9x = 180° Divide by 9

    x = 180/9

    x = 20

    Answer

    The original angle = 8*20 = 160°
