Solve the following inequality 5X-7 > 3X+9

    The answer is x>8. Add 7 to both sides then subtract 3x from both, or subtract 9 and 5x from both. The first gives 2x>16, and the latter gives - 16>-2x. Isolate x by dividing on both sides.
