    5x+6y=-14

    x - 2y = 10

    5x+6y=-14

    (x-2y=10) 3

    5x+6y=-14

    3x-6y = 30

    8x. = 16

    8. 8

    x = 2

    then you substitute that x value for the x in either equation.

    2-2y=10

    -2. - 2

    -2y=8

    -2. - 2

    y=-4

    (2,-4)
