    12 times. 20 percent of 60 is 12

Percentage of a number is multiplying that number by the decimal equivalent of the percentage.

    20% = 0.20

    60 x 0.20 = 12 times on first base.

You can also see this as how many groups of 20% there are in 100% since that would identify all at bats. 100 / 20 = 5

Then see how many groups of 5 there are in 60 at bats. 60 / 5 = 12 times.
