Box plots titled Males versus Females in Hours Worked Weekly during the Summer with horizontal axis labeled Hours worked per week ranges from 0 to 55. Males box plot with minimum approximately at 15 and maximum approximately at 35 has interquartile range approximately between 20 and 25 and median approximately at 22. Females box plot with minimum at 0 and maximum approximately at 50 has interquartile range approximately between 0 and 25 and median is approximately at 20. Identify any values of data that may affect the statistical measures of center and spread.

The biggest key here is identifying outliers. Outliers can pull measures of center either up or down drastically. Notice how the males have a VERY low outlier. This will pull the mean down severely and create a much larger range, or spread. The females have a median of about 12 hours, but have an upper extreme of 19, which compareatively is very high. This creates a larger range as well.
