A mother is 20 years older then her daughter now. 50 years ago he was twice the age of her daughter. what are the present ages of the mother and daughter

    M=20+d

    m-50=2 (d-50), m-50=2d-100, m=2d-50, since m=m we have:

    20+d=2d-50

    -d=-70, d=70 and since m=20+d, m=90

    So the present ages of the mother and daughter are 90 and 70 years old.
