5x+9y=-3 and 3x-7y=17

    I don't know what we have to do but from what I think it is ... to me the answer for the first one is 5 (3) + 9 (-2) = -3. The way I figured this one out is I multiplied 5x3 which gave me 15 and then 9x-2 which gave me - 18. Once you have that you should subtract 15 and - 18 which will give you - 3. I don't know the second one ... sorry
