    Step-by-step explanation:

    The maximum is always obtained when a square is used for some part of a rectangular prism. That would mean the bottom of the box would be 9 by 9. because those dimensions would give a square. Suppose that me which I take to be the height or h = 5.

    The maximum volume would be 9*9*5 = 405 cubic units.

    Does D come closer?

    V = l * w * h

    V = 8*10*5

    V = 400 cubic units which is less than 405.
