Using the distributive property to transform 4 (x + 3) = 3 (3x - 1) how do I substitute 3 for x to see if it's a true statement?

    4 (3+3) = 3 (3 (3) - 1)

    Step-by-step explanation:

    1) plug in the three

    2) distribute

    3) see if the answers gotten are the same if not than the statement is wrong

    I know it looks a bit complicated but its not once you get the hang of it
