Two quantities, x and y, are directly proportional. If x is halved, what happens to y?

    Y should also be halved.

    For example, if x=4 and y=2, x=2y.

    If x is halved for x=2, you get 2=2y, or y=1, which is still one half of x, so the proportion remains the same.
