50 percent of 40 is 20. so there for english would be the most prefered class because u already know that the 24 kids that prefer english is higher than the 40 percent of kids that prefer keyboarding.

Well 40% of the 40 students reported that their favorite subject was Keyboarding and we know that 40% of 40 is 16 and 24 is greater than 16. So therefore, more students prefer English rather than keyboarding.
