If x/9=1, how do you know what x is? Explain

X/9=1 (remember for later algebra, capitalization means there are 2 variables; just an FYI; ex. A/a are different variables)

I digress, x/9=1, to eliminate the x we must remove the nearest non-variable first (9) to do that, we do the opposite of the task the equation requests, this one requests we divide x by 9. multiple 9 on both sides to remove it.

x/9=1

x=9

X/9 = 1

x is 9

you are going to use inverse of operations to get x on a side by itself. In this case all you need to do is multiply each side by 9, to cancel out the 9 on the side with the x. Once you do that you get x=9

x/9=1
