    To find the width, divide the area by the length.

    Width = 9/10 / 2/5

    When dividing fractions flip the second one over and multiply:

    Width = 9/10 x 5/2 = (9 x5) / (10 x 2) = 45/20 = 2 and 1/4 miles.
