A rectangular solid has a volume of 24 cubic decimeters. If the length, width, and height are all changed to half of their original size, what will be the new volume of the rectangular solid?

    Let the length width and height be l, w and h respectively

    We know that the volume of the rectangle

    V = lwh = 24

    Now reducing length width and height by half we have

    Length = l/2,

    Width = w/2

    Height = h/2

    The new volume is

    l/2*w/2*h/2 = lwh/6

    But l*w*h = 24

    24/6 = 4dm³
