    She started with 10.

    Equation:

    We will be using (c) for comic books.

    1/2 (c) + 6=11

    Solving it:

    1/2 (c) + 6=11

    move the 6 over to where the 11 is, making it a - 6.

    1/2 (c) = 11-6

    (which is 5)

    1/2 (c) = 5

    now divide by 1/2 to cancel it out and leave us with the (c)

    1/2 divided by 1/2 is 1.

    5 divided by 1/2 is 10.

    c=10

    She started with 10 comic books.
