    Change in y over change in x

    Step-by-step explanation:

    To make this easier to understand lets make a table

    x | y

    1 | 2

    2 | 4

    3 | 6

    Now we go back and find the slope. This is really simple as the rise and run is displayed.

    Count the change in x

    In this case x changes by 1

    2. Count the change in y

    In this case it changes by 2

    Now put it into rise over run

    Rise (y) / Run (x)

    your m or slope would be 2/1 or 2

    and in a y=mx+b would be

    y=2x+b
