The sum of Jack and Jill's ages is 37. If Jill's age is 7 more than twice Jack's age (x), write an equation that could be used to find Jack's age.

    x: age of Jill

    y: age of Jack

    x + y = 37 (1)

    x - 7 = 2y (2)

    => (1) subtracts (2) = > 3y = 30 = > y = 10 (age of Jack)
