Factor f (x) = x4+x3-20x2.

    Answer:

    -5, 0 (multiplicity 2), + 4

    Discussion:

    Let f (x) = x^4 + x ^3 - 20 x^2

    Factor x^2 from each term:

    f (x) = x^2 (x^2 + x - 20) = x^2 (x + 5) (x-4)

    f = 0 when x = 0 (multiplicity 2) and x = - 5 or x = 4
