The temperature of an oven went from 360° to 280°. What was the percent decrease in temperature to the nearest percent? A. 22% B. 29% C. 80% D. 130%

    In order to decrease from 360 to 280, the decrease is 80.

    80 out of the original 360 is a decrease of 80/360 = 2/9 = (22 and 2/9) percent.

    That discussion applies to numbers.

    Temperature doesn't work that way.
