    I found this answer by subtracting 5x from both sides and got 6=12+5x. Then i subtracted 12 from both sides and got - 6=5x. Lastly, i divided both sides by 5 and got - 6/5 which is - 1 1/5 in fraction form or - 1.2 in decimal form.
