    To find the y-intercept you first need to set everything equal to y and that will put everything in the y=mx+b line equation. Where m is the slope and b is the y intercept

    x+3y = 14 subtract x over

    3y = - x+14 divide by 3

    y = - 1/3x + 14

    So 14 is the y-intercept of the equation
