    (2/3) ^2⋅ (2/3) ^6 = (2/3) ^ (2+6) = (2/3) ^8

When we have the same thing being multiplied by itself with a different exponent on it, we add the two exponents.

    (a^b) * (a^c) = a^ (b+c)
