    The answer is Y=11, X=-1

    Here's my work:

    x=-12+y

    -6 (-12+y) + 2y=28

    6*12 = 72

    72 - 6y + 2y=28 (now we combine like-terms)

    72-4y=28 (now divide by - 4)

    -18+y=-7 (add 18 to both sides)

    y=11

    next part we find x:

    x=-12 + (11)

    x=-1
