Very confused & don't understand, if anyone can explain I appreciate it!

7x - (3x + 5) - 8 = 1/2 (8x + 20) - 7x + 5

    oh i get it well to make two equations equal you have to find something that fits in x. you see the eqal sign? that is seperating the two equations that you have to make equal

    First thing is to distrubite 7x - to 3x+5 and then do the same to 1/2 to 8x+20. Then whatever you get isolate the variable by adding or subtrating and lastly ypu should get x=4
