    First subtract the 5 from both sides so you end up with I2x+1I = 7 Then take the absolute value of I2x+1I and u end up with 2x+1

    currently u should end up with 2x+1=7

    3. now subtract one from both sides and you get 2x=6, then divide both sides by 2 and you get x=3

    and if u substitute 3 for x back in the original you get 12
