    First you need to make it either - tan (x) or tan (-x) to get it oriented correctly (Flipped over the x or y axis, either works) and then moved left or right by pi/2, again, either works. You cannot have both tangent itself and x be negative though, like in C, because that just undoes the flipping. just like a + pi/2 would undo a-pi/2.
