Mr Smith is driving from his airmen's in Queens to his parents house in Rhode Island. Because of traffic getting out of the city, it takes him 2 hours to drive 80 miles into Connecticut. After that, he drives 75 miles per hour for one hour. How far does mr. Smith drive in the first hour and how far does he drive in the second hour

    Rate times time = distance.

    2*80 = 160 miles the first two hours. So the first hour is 80 mph

    1*75. = 75. 75 miles the second hour
