    Step-by-step explanation:

    5x-4y=-3

    y=5x+3/4- - (1)

    y=-3x+5- - (2)

    compare the two equations

    5x+3/4=-3x+5

    5x+3=4 (-3x+5)

    5x+3=-12x+20

    now add 12x on both sides

    17x+3=20

    now subtract 3 from both sides

    17x=17

    now divide 17 from both sides

    x=1

    plug this value of x on any one of the above 2 equation I am using (1)

    y=5 (1) + 3/4

    y=5+3/4

    y=8/4

    y=2
