    Step-by-step explanation:

The total number of socks is 12+6 = 18 socks

    P (1st sock is brown) = brown/total = 12/18 = 2/3

We take one sock that is brown so there are 17 socks 11 brown and 6 blue

    P (2nd sock is brown) = brown=total = 11/17

    P (1st brow, 2nd brown not replaced) = 2/3 * 11/17

    =22/51
