You are dealt one card from a 52-card deck. Find the probability that you are dealt: a numbered card or a spade

    So you start out with the 52 original cards. You know what 13 cards are spade shaped, and there are 10 numbered cards in each symbol. In total, 40 out of 52 cards are numbered, and 13 out of 52 are spade symbol. Now 10 out each symbol are numbered, start out with that. That equals 30 numbered cards. Now add the entire spade minideck, and you have 43 cards being the possibility. In numerical form, 43 out of the 52 cards are possible to be chosen. In fraction form, 43/52 will be your answer.

    In 52-card deck there are 36 numbered card and 52/4=13 spade card

    so probability that you are dealt a numbered card is 36/52 = 9/13 a spade card is 13/52=1/4
